Last updated: August 1, 2026

CopyCatApp (“we”, “us”) is a Chrome extension that helps you create step-by-step guides and screen/video recordings. This policy explains what data the extension handles, why, and your choices.

Summary

What the extension accesses on your device

This capture happens locally in your browser. It starts only when you press Record and stops when you stop.

Information we collect

Where your recordings live

Google user data and OAuth scopes

If you sign in with Google, we request only:

We do not request access to your Google Drive or any other Google data. When the optional cloud-save feature launches, it will request the drive.file scope (files the app creates only), and this policy will be updated.

CopyCatApp's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer or use Google user data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read your data except (a) with your consent, (b) for security, or (c) as required by law.

How we use data

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use your content (recordings, screenshots, guides) to train AI models.

Sharing

We share data only with infrastructure providers that operate the service on our behalf:

We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep account, usage, and feedback data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion (see Contact). Recordings on your device are controlled and deleted by you.

Your choices

Children

CopyCatApp is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date.
