Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

These terms govern your use of the CopyCatApp Chrome extension and the Copycat website (together, the “Service”). By installing the extension or using the website, you agree to them.

The service

CopyCatApp lets you record your on-screen actions to create step-by-step guides and screen/video recordings, exported to your own device. The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may add optional paid features later; nothing free today will silently become paid without notice.

Your content

Recordings, guides, and exports you create are yours. We claim no ownership of them, we do not receive copies of them, and we will never use them to train AI models. You are responsible for the content you record — make sure you have the right to record it and to share whatever you distribute.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to violate laws or the rights of others — including recording people or confidential material without permission where consent is required, infringing intellectual property, or distributing malware or deceptive content. Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service's backend.

Accounts

An account is optional. If you sign in (Google, Microsoft, or email link), keep your credentials secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. You can stop using the Service and request deletion of your account data at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

Availability & changes

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep it reliable but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Since your recordings live on your device, discontinuation of the Service does not affect files you have already exported.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently: zero, as the Service is free). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Switzerland.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
